For the Last Time, You Don't Need to Drink 8 Glasses of Water a Day

Drink eight cups of water a day! It’s like being sure to eat five servings of fruits and veggies a day, or get eight hours of sleep — it’s a statistic so central to leading a healthy life that we don’t question it any more. But here’s the thing: It’s not actually backed by science. And what’s more — forcing yourself to drink up, even when you’re not thirsty, could do more harm than good. In a New York Times article published today (Aug. 24), Aaron Carroll, MD, urges readers to forget about aiming for 64 ounces and instead listen to their bodies. He’s debunked the eight-cups-a-day myth over and over, to no avail. Others have spoken out against it as well — the recommendation is “thoroughly debunked nonsense,” one doctor wrote in the British Medical Journal in 2011. Why are we so convinced that eight cups of water a day is necessary? It’s partly due to misinformed doctors and experts, Carroll suggests, and partly due to how much we want to believe that drinking more water is a

Increase Your Financial IQ

Real estate, stocks, mutual funds, businesses, or money is not what makes a person rich. It is information, knowledge, wisdom, and know-how that makes one wealthy; that is what is referred to as financial intelligence. There are five things you need to work on to increase your financial IQ. They are as follows: 1. Make more money You need to increase what you earn on a regular basis. To do this work is required. You can never make more money without working. Interestingly it is the process that helps you become rich and not the money. The more you make money the more money you can make. Each person goes through a different process so you can not compare yourself to another person. Your goals, dreams and ambitions are different. Just find your niche and determine how you want to get to your goals. Making more money has a lot to do with you being able to control your emotions. You need to learn to delay gratification. Never give up. It may seem tough but if you are positive you

Pope Francis has suggested he may resign his papacy

P ope Francis has suggested he may resign his papacy like his predecessor, rather than remain at the Vatican for life. The pontiff made the comments during a interview with Mexican television, marking the second anniversary of his election. “I have the feeling that my pontificate will be brief. Four or five years; I do not know, even two or three,” he said. He praised Pope Benedict’s decision to step aside in 2013 as “courageous”. “Benedict should not be considered an exception, but an institution. Maybe he will be the only one for a long time, maybe he will not be the only one. “But an institutional door has been opened,” he told the Televisa channel. Pope Francis has hinted in the past that he could retire, but said he was opposed to the idea of an age limit for leaders of the Catholic Church. “To say that one is in charge up to 80 years, creates a sensation that the pontificate is at its end and that would not be a good thing,” he added. A papal conclave elected Pope Fra

How to ensure these elections don’t destroy your emotions!

Politics is more emotional than football, thank God it happens only once in 4years. It has the capacity to spend your emotions, spend your energy and of course squander your time! We look at the time spent, and console ourselves with – it’s our nation, it’s our lives, and it determines a lot of other factors, but the truth is man hours are perishing on the cross of politically driven discussions that may be to no end. 1. Make up your mind that Nigeria is your candidate. You are only voting someone who you believe will serve the best interest of Nigeria. 2. Be assured that most of the smear information in town right now are propaganda. Some people paid agents of political parties, some of them are more respected than others. 3. Almost every human being can be demonised! When they sought to put something on Daniel, and they couldn’t, they looked for a religious reason. 4. Everyone has something good they have done! All the extreme positions about this person did or didn’t do t
